DARK ASPECTS, REPORT 901SD

Dark Lament have lost out to Karma over the years, as it's products can only be used
by Ebb users. Now Dark Lament has set up a sub company called '_Dark Aspects_ (tm)' 
to supply products tp a wider market. Dark Aspect is now in direct competition with Karma
in markets that Karma has had cornered for many years. How Karma will face this new threat 
to its market share is yet to be seen, but rumours abound that Karma has for many years 
had a project running to supply bioengeneered inplants for ebons and wasters.

So what has _Dark Aspects_ to offer for ebb and non-ebb users. Well the first products onto
the market are flux mood furniture and clothing. Whilst appealing to ebons as they feel more
'comfortable' in these clothes they are priced to appael to all those who want something a 
little different. These mood products pick up on the feelings of the owner and change aspect.
If the wearer is feeling anger then the clothing takes on a darker aspect, whereas if the 
wearer is feeling happy then the opposite is true. The clothing is also designed to amplify 
these feelings...the new _Dark Aspects_ bed is certain to be a popular item. 


For the future _Dark Aspects_ will be producing weapons, armour, vehicles...but for now 
_Dark Aspects_ is intent on making itself a household name. _Dark Aspects_ are seeking 
operative, both ebons and non-ebons, for sponsership deals. We await Karma's response with 
interest.

The shipwrights on New Venice were suffering a rapid deterioration in abilities due to the aspect of the planet. The workforce was prone to high levels of phychosis as the 'ghost voices', as they became known, invaded every moment of the shipwrights life. In responce to this _Dark Aspects_ formed a research team known as the 'Anarchy Dreams Syndicate' to find a solution. For years they worked in the shipyards of New Venice seeking the answer. They tried drugs based upom 'White Noise', but soon found that the Ghost Voices were very different to the Dream Demons. Many members of the 'Syndicate Team' died during this period as they worked on mixtures of drugs, combining White Noise with Streak, Honesty and Alice. The 'Syndicate' team were no nearer to a solution, and had lost valuable members of staff. The team leader, a Necanthrope called Slave, finally pulled his team out to a nearby _Dark Aspects_ science friction station to review there findings. The Ghost Voices were unlike anything he had experienced before, even in the white. It was as if the whole planet was awash with the voices of dead souls, tainted with the despoiled soul of the planet itself. At his lowest ebb he remebered the words of his long dead mentor and teacher, "armour your mind aginst those that oppose you". Was there a way, he thought, to build a fortress against the Ghost Voices. A fresh team was brought in, experts in the ancient and sacred art of science friction. They worked, filling there minds with the Ghost Voices, and producing warped and nightmarish flux products. Then finally the breakthrough occured, and the job was complete. The Tranthydreasiad, (nearest translation is 'silent voices') was born into the world of progress. It is a hood that covers the head of the ebon and fixes onto the death suit. It has a leathery texture that seems almost alive, and some have said that it 'pulses' with energy. It has the effect of silencing the Ghost Voices and blocking certain ebb abilities. The Tranthydreasiad is now issued to all visitors and workers on New Venice. Whilst it is expensive it has proved effective in allowing workers to be stationed on New Venice for longer periods of time. It is not 100% effective, and shipwrights do still suffer from bad pychosis, but the levels are continually dropping. This has saved Dark Lament a fortune, as they do not have as great a turn-around in staff, and has helped to secure the future of _Dark Aspects_ at the cutting edge of science friction production. The 'Anarchy Dreams Syndictate' research team are now working upon another project for _Dark Aspects_ ,still under the leadership of Slave.

GM stuff :- Tranthydreasiad, (nearest translation is 'silent voices'). It is a hood that covers the head of the ebon and fits over the deathsuit helmet. It cannot be used in conjunction with the Jade Probe as they fit in the same way onto the deathsuit helmet. It has a leathery texture, and appears to be covered in veins that pulse with energy, producing nightmarish apparitions upon its surface when the Ghost Voices are at there strongest. The inside of the hood is covered in glyphs that act as a fortress against the Ghost Voices. Due to the high cost and difficulty in producing the material for the hood it has been impracticle to fortify large areas. The hood is produced by 'mixing' or infusing the ghost voices into the flux material, and sometimes the voices come through the hood and into the ebons mind. The hoods are rare and expensive, occupying a quasi-legal status in the world of progress. They are found on New Venice and other such sites, but many ebons find the thought of wearing the hood abhorant. Outside of the shipyards and other Dark Lament production centres the hood carries a certain stigma, and wearers have been known to be attacked on site. The hood silences the Ghost Voices on New Venice and allows the wearer to stay upon the shipyards for prolonged periods of time without the usual side effects (such as extreme psychosis and sometimes death). The hood has the following effects upom ebb abilities...

The Tranthydreasiad Hood has been found to effect certain ebb abilities. These are usaully 
abilities that use of effect the mind of the ebon. The hood tends to distort these abilities,
making them harder to use. The Gore Cannon and Hood cannot be used together as the cannon has
a violent 'hatred' for the hood. Why or how this has come about is still under investigation. 

Everytime the ebon put on the hood they have to make a COOL check. If this is failed then 
they gain 1 rank in phychosis as the ghost voices break through. If the hood is worn 
continuously then another COOL check must be made every 3 months for the first year, and 
then just once every year from then on. Wearing the hood is disturbing for the wearer as it 
reduces the ebon Communication skill, a cherished ability amongst the ebon kind.

The hood has a retarding effect on the ebon mind. Long term wearers of the hood have been 
described by other ebons as 'zombies' or 'mind slaves', for they suffer degeneration of 
abilities. For every 3 years of cummulative use the ebon loses a rank in one of the following
abilities; COMMUNICATION, DETECT, REALITY FOLDING or TELEKINESIS.

The Tranthydreasiad Hood cannot be interdermalized as this causes instant insanity and 
eventually death. The hood attaches to the deathsuit helmet like a parasitic organism, and 
due to it's nightmarish construction the ebon body cannot absorb the material. It is also 
not possible to interdermalize the deathsuit first and then put on the hood, as the hood 
needs to be attached to the deathsuit helmet.

685SD: Manekin plagued by Dream Demons as he comes 'close'. Becomes virtual White Noise addict

       and a visionary scientist.

       Science Friction materials and FLUX absorbtion.

790SD: Joins the crew of the Foldship 'Descriptions of Fear' on a research journey to Dante 
       and Cross.

This is a basic overview of the life of Manekin/Slave, the head of The Dark_Aspects team 
known as the Anarchy Dreams Syndicate. His research into Science Friction materials and FLUX 
absorbtion was a great help during the work on the Tranthydreasiad helm. 

Exactly what happened to Slave during those lost 63 years is unclear. Reported sightings of 
a Necanthrope in lower downtown were recorded over this period, though nobody knows the nature
of the BPN he was on. The most reliable theory is that Slave sought, and found, many ancient 
glyph cards including the enhancement Glyph.

Slave is a dark and forboding character. He speaks little, prefering to communicate by 
thought. Whan he does speak it is normally in what appears to be riddles. Slave always wears 
dark clothing, which are all made of Dark_Aspects material. 

Slave remains head of the D_A design team 'Anarchy Dreams Syndicate'. Slave is a troubled 
figure who has in recent times shown a certain instability. These have not overshadowed the 
trememdous advances that his team have made in the manufacture of Science Friction goods, 
though it is rumoured that the head of Dark_Aspects has requested a meeting with certain 
ancient Necanthropes.
